About
We built the room we wanted to sit in.
There was no cigar lounge in this part of Indiana worth spending an evening in. So we found a room, took it back to the studs, and spent longer than we meant to getting it right.
Who’s behind it
Not our first room full of people.
Back Room is Jeremy Brown’s — caterer and entrepreneur, founder of Nameless Catering and co-founder of Indiana Bar Service. Hospitality at scale is the day job, and this room is what happens when you point it at one evening instead of one event.
He has run bar operations for some of the largest gatherings in the state — USA Swimming Live at the Olympic Trials, the international motocross championship MX of Nations — and for twenty-person dinners where every guest is a name you know. The standard does not move between the two. Only the logistics do.
That is the whole argument for this place. A lounge is not a hard idea. Getting the air right, the chairs right, the humidor stocked properly and the service unhurried — that is just a lot of details handled before anyone walks in, by people who have handled them before.

The room
Down to the studs.
Everything you sit in now went into an empty shell: the navy panelling, the exposed brick, the ribbed ceiling with the cove light running behind it.
Upstairs is the louder half — flat screens across the wall for the game, the fight, whatever is on that night. Downstairs stays quiet. You pick which evening you are having.
The part nobody notices is the ventilation, which is exactly the point. You should be able to spend four hours in here and go home without your coat announcing where you have been.
The shop
A walk-in humidor, not a display case.
The top 25 brands will always be here. The interesting part is the rest — the rare boxes we go looking for and the launches we get first call on.
Members get special discounts, whether they smoke it in a chair here or take it home. If you don’t know what you want, say so — that is a better conversation than a guess.

- Members with lockers, yes. Otherwise the humidor is right there.

- No code. Most people turn up somewhere between work and comfortable.
